Community nursing is an academic discipline that embodies issues related to the health and lives of people living in the community and explores nursing practice to help people solve their own problems and maintain and improve their quality of life.
As nursing professionals in the fields of public health, occupational health, and home care, we will examine health issues targeting individuals, families, groups, and communities, as well as international trends surrounding community nursing, speculate on current and anticipated future issues, and pursue practical and research methods to solve these issues.
Specifically, students, practitioners, and faculty members will deepen their learning through discussions on theories and methods related to practice, such as the development process of problem solving based on needs assessment and evaluation of various targets, methods of activity evaluation, methods of solving problems in collaboration with various professionals, related persons, and parties, and partnership and leadership in support teams.
Furthermore, the course aims to acquire basic research skills to enhance the quality of practice while learning the philosophy and development methods of health promotion and health education, support methods to promote health behaviors, support utilizing self-care and group dynamics, concepts and components of community comprehensive care systems, and theories and methods related to health policy, policy making, and regional network building.
We are engaged in research aimed at improving the quality of support for subjects at diverse developmental stages and health challenges such as development and evaluation of health promotion and health education for individuals, families, groups, and communities; individual and group health support through action research; support and evaluation of individual and group meetings aimed at preventing child abuse; development and evaluation of methods for improving the quality of home care; support and effectiveness of comprehensive community care systems and care prevention.
We are also involved in research on the development of recording formats for improving support and in-service education programs for public health nurses and nurses working in the fields of administration and home care. You can select a research theme from a wide range of perspectives based on your own experience and interests.
