Lifelong Development of the Nursing Profession

“Lifelong Development for Nurses" is a unique program established by our University to support the nursing profession through education, research, and practice. Nurses, whose role is to serve people with illnesses and disabilities and their families, continue to grow and develop through their own life-long experiences. For this reason, the bachelor's program defines "career" as "a way of life throughout one's life," and each year from the first year to the fourth year, students take a course on "career development. The central goals of this course are to consider the meaning of undergraduate study in the first year, to explore "living and thinking" in the second year, to learn about the career possibilities of nursing in the third year, and to look at one's own career in the fourth year. In addition, there are interactions among undergraduate students across grade levels and collaborative education with students from the School of Medicine and Waseda University to provide an opportunity for students who have chosen nursing to look at themselves from a broader perspective.
